NanoStation Loco M2 problem
|
I uploaded the firmware on a NanoStation Loco M2, upgraded it, and was able to get to the initial setup page.
When I changed the node name, and my password, the unit rebooted, and now I can no longer get to the web page to log into the unit. I also get a red LED on the third LED from the left. Have no idea what that even means.
I can see this node from my linksys mesh node, but when I click the link it comes up with web page unavailable.
I get no response when I ping 192.168.1.1, nslookup can't find the server.

BBHN on a Pineapple?
Just wondering if anyone has messed around with putting BBHN on a "Hak5 Wifi Pineapple"?(check it out here http://hakshop.myshopify.com/products/wifi-pineapple?variant=81044992) If not, I have one and would be willing to (with proper direction) attempt it. The Pineapple already has a version of Open-WRT on it and runs from a micro sd card. I would think or I should say guess, that it would be something like installing on a Raspberry Pi. I am interested in using this because of the dual radios, (1) 2.4Ghz and (1) 5.8Ghz. Correction: It runs on internal memory and has a micro sd slot. Mine shipped running a version of ATTITUDE ADJUSTMENT. Again, I was just wondering so don't try and move the moon on this one. Thanks, KE8AVJ |

4 nodes. One GL, one Bullet, one AirGrid and one Raspberry Pi node. RasPBX and web server setup on another Raspberry Pi.

Thanks for the help. After everything being off over night, turning the wifi off and two or three try's to log on to the BBHN node it WORKED. I completed step 4 to configure the mesh node it works, only thing is if I go back to SETUP it asks for a user name and password, root and hsmm do not work. What is it now? Other than that I guess I have a working mesh node, no one else in the area to check it out.

I'm very new to this, I just registered yesterday. I did a search and see no mention of the BEFW11S4 Linksys series. I suppose this means they are of little use? I have two of those. I also have a WRTG45G V8 which means it is also a coffee table decoration. Guess I'll have to hunt around for something useful. I'm looking forward to playing with some new toys. Thanks. Installed new firmware, it doesn't work.
Just loaded latest firmware (bbhn-3.1.0-wrt54g-2.4-squashfs.bin) onto a WRT54g v2.2 with linksys firmware on it, followed the Firmware Installation Instructions by AD5OO. Everything went fine through step 3, then it went bad at step 4, when I go to browser (http://localnode:8080/) there is no response, LAN or wireless. What did I do wrong and how do I recover? Do I dare to reset it? This is my first try at doing this.
Thanks, Tom

K0DFS - how do I run and document a packet trace on a call?
K5DLQ - where do I add the 10. network to the NAT list?
Sorry if the answers to these questions are simple. I am new to this (VoIP) and not overly familiar with some of it, including the network configs..... thanks.

I know on asterisk, that you must add the 10. Network to your NAT list. I had a similar problem until I configured that. |

HamChat Server
We've just installed HamChat on one of our local mesh Nodes.
The node is a Ubiquiti Bullet M2 (V3.1.0) and the server is working well.
We've edited the .pl script to add the timestamp function.
We get the time from NTP and that all seems to be working fine.
What we are unable to get working are the changes to the Styles.css file.
We want to reduce the size of the timestamp font and change its color.
All changes we make are ignored.
Not sure if we're missing something.
We installed the HamChat package from the online package server.
V 0.1
Thanks for any help. |

I have a WRT54g node active in Mission Hills and another setup for mobile. At the moment I'm still on the stock antennas, but I plan to put an omni up high and a directional once there's another node to point it at. Unfortunately, I didn't see any nodes on the map that are likely to be within range. |

OpenWRT AA and BB with channels between 2312-2407 Mhz
I'm looking into the usefulness of re-crystalled WRT54s, to operate below 2400MHz According to this German article (translated) it looks straight-forward. It appears similarly-mod'ed units will interoperate, but raises questions as to its working with NS2 or TL-WN722, or other unit in expanded frequency mode through software.
http://www.rlx.lu/~lx1tb/wrt54gs/
I suspect that scaling 20MHz clock to the WRT54 Wifi radio chip (BCM2050) will also change the OFDM inter-carrier spacing (nominally 312.5kHz) and other parameters; unless these can be compensated by firmware changes. From what I read, OFDM frequency error needs to be substantially less than the spacing, and TX-RX inter-carrier spacing the same. Does anyone have additional knowledge/experience with this?
For anything which can be properly frequency scaled, the channel centre frequency should fall very close to 23x2 or 23x7MHz eg. 2362.0; I believe within 100kHz or better. That limits the choice of crystals. I was thinking of 19.440MHz instead of 19.6608 (which is a baud-rate crystal and not likely to be as accurate/stable), or another common OTS crystal 19.200MHz, but none of the 13 new frequencies "lands" close enough to target. Frequency synthesizer was tried by author above but jitter rendered the link unusable. I suppose a low-jitter PLL design is possible, if designed carefully.
So far I have not found a detailed spec for the BCM2050 online, to understand better how it works. Can someone point to suitable documentation?
