I'm looking for something like "badblocks",  very low level to test as much of the hardware as possible.
I have a few Linksys that seem to have some issues, memory, flash, etc.

											Cannot PUTTY into WRT54GS V4 with 3.1.0

I flashed my GS V4 with 3.1.0 and when I try to Putty into it, it hangs with a message "SSH-2.0-dropbear_0.50"   Tftp'ed it several times.  Same results. Is my 54GS v4 corrupted or is the hardware
bad?
It seems to work as a mesh node just fine and if I have the WAN port connected to my home network, everything works.
The TFP flash worked. Just had to hit the 1/2 second window. I let it completely finish, then rebooted.
I know the 54GS V4 is very limited. Is there anything else I can try?
BTW: I have a 54GS V1 and it works fine with putty, etc. It is set up as a VTUN Client,
KB5NFT-MOBILE54GSV1 in case you want to let me tunnel into your nodes, just for look and see.

											IRC (Chat) Software Location?

When I try to download the ngIRCd ver 20.2 package, the node just sits there and does nothing. I found this website that has LOADS of different versions of ngIRCd IRC chat server software:
http://arthur.barton.de/pub/ngircd/
I don't want to screw around with the .z and .tz compression software, so I'm just going to use the older 'ngircd_18_mipsel.ipk' file that I have. Tried and proven.

I have successfully used Cisco 2940 8 port switches in multiple locations for BBHN.
I have picked them up off of ebay and other sources off the web for about $25 a pop.

I could not find a better place to ask my question than here... hope nobody minds.
I have a friend in Ottawa, Canada planning to set up a couple of nanobeams but he also wants to tunnel down to me here in Arizona. Does he need to get a WRT54GS as well? From what little I know of the M5 it has only one ethernet port. Can the WAN/LAN be handled using just the one port? And are the ones that Amazon is offering compatible?

											NanoStation Loco M2 problem

I finally figured it out. I had set a static ip to 192.168.1.2 as the instructions told me to. Today I realized that the node provides DHCP, so I set it to obtain the IP automatically, and then did an ipconfig, and found out that the ip is 10.38.39.201 and I was able to connect immediately. So everything was working just fine, I just had to think about it a bit.
