Has anyone used on of these on the mesh?  You can pick them up on EBAY for about $30.

I am trying to set it up serverless, but it insists on registering.

It accepts direct IP calls but won't dial one without registering.

I was able to telnet into the box and have the password for the root, but haven't found a way to bypass the register.

Any suggestions?

JJ

Hi,  I am trying to find a 3.1.0 firmware upgrade / squashfs.bin file for a WRT54GL router to convert it over for Amateur use.  The latest upgrade is not in the repository and the software download link is down for a while after the new server upgrade.  If anyone has one they could email to me, I would appreciate it.

Topic : Demonstration video of Asterisk over Broadband Hamnet network

Hello!

I did a demonstration video showing the Asterisk VoIP setup I have with my local Broadband-Hamnet setup.  Right now it is only working between 3 nodes in my home, as I did this for testing purposes, but I'm hoping to have it scaled up to a much larger area soon.

Hi Everyone,

Been keeping up with BBHN over the last couple and recently connected my network to the world-wide BBHN Tunnel Network.

Since we have lots a sun, I decided to power all of my BBHN devices with solar energy, 24/7. basically, I have a 1kw 12v battery system fed by a charge controller and 400w of solar panel.

On the network I have:

1) A HD web camera up on my tower pointed at Waikiki below me. My QTH altitude is 800 feet (240 mtrs). and approximately 3 miles (4800mtrs) from Waikiki.

When connecting to web cam, please logon with username=guest and pw=guest.

2) Weather station web site. You can see the station in the web cam.

3) AllStar node which connects to other Hawaii and world-wide AllStar nodes to interconnect Hawaiian users from around the world. This node ties into the Hawaiian AllStar Network for local BHNN users.

4) HamChat, web server are still in the works....

Future intent is to put up a point-to-point link from my QTH to a site in Waikiki, to accommodate users who can see this sight. Some points could be as far away as 20+ miles away.

So, this is what I have going on in Honolulu Hawaii. Please come by

You can just reboot the nodes that see it with the dual nodename.

Or just let it time out (it will correct on its own over time)

So this is what rmonline says the coverage of the node that I would like to set up would be:

Is there anyone in the (hoped) coverage area who might be setting up node and could aim in my direction???

My hope is that it might be a Ubiquity(AirGrid ??).

I was helping a friend flash a router for BBHN and I  put the wrong call sign in. I went back in the admin privileges and corrected it however when other nodes look at this node, they see it as "callsign-ls1/wrong callsign" How do I get rid of the "/wrong callsign". I have some hesitation as I bricked a node recently.

Do you have this port forwarded to your laptop?

Maybe try opening port 80 for the PI on the router. However you don't need this for the phone to function, it is used when you want to replace the graphics the phone uses(such as the Cisco name and logo) and some other (rarely used) features. If you take out the entry for http server in the config it should stop showing the error.

If you are replacing the logos I would love to hear about it.

Let me know if this works for you.

Okay, Well I am unable to edit my post above. I had a formatting issue. I have a home router in which various devices/servers/PCs are connected to. I would not think so, but would adding a Mesh Node to a port in my home router allow access to any of my home network resources?

Does this internet gateway functionality also give the Mesh Network access to the resources on your home network? Or does it just allow Internet access? Might be something to consider as far as security. I want to hook up one of my nodes to share my internet access but I don't want anyone on the mesh network to be able to potentially have access to my media server for example. Home Router <--ethernet--> (Mesh Node A) <--RF--> Mesh Network <--ethernet--> (Personal Computer) <--ethernet--> (Network Attached Storage) <--ethernet--> (Xbox) etc, etc.

I finally dug deep enough into my cable modem/router and found the settings necessary to allow the MESH through to the interwebs. It took a while, but once I found it (Under custom firewall) everything worked just slicker than ever, even the tunneling.

Topic : Teamspeak3 ??

I am new to mesh networking and trying to set up Teamspeak3 as a first application.

When I installed Teamspeak3 64 bit server, I misunderstood the applet with the token word and closed it.  Then I ran the server and client Teamspeak3 programs.  Of course I couldn't log in without the info I had deleted.

Finally, I deleted all the files and then installed TS3 server again.  This time I saved the server name, password, and key word.  I was able to log in with the Teamspeak3 client and insert the key word.

However, the server did not recognize me as a Super Admin.  I am just a Server Admin.  Could this be because I am using the single server free version?

Also, I am struggling setting up the routers on HamNet for TS3.  I can make .jpg files of my settings so they can be inspected.

Can somebody help me get started?

I have installed the mIRCD server on my lap top.and I have made it available on my meshnode

(Linksys WRT54GL) it now shows up on the mesh as an advertised service however when you click on it from another node the following message appears;http://g6lvs-ventnor:6667/ seems to be unavailable not allowed to use restricted network port. The g6lvs-ventnor bit is the mesh node which is connected with my laptophosting the mIRC server. THe internet service works OK. Have I done something wrong or not done something I shoul have.

Interesting... After installing v3.1.0 on my WRT54GSv2 internet gateway router, none of my other v3.0.0 Linksys or Ubiquity Rocket, nor any connected node (dozen or so) are having any trouble with internet or anything else. However, the Status screen of my v3.1.0 Gateway does not display any Default Gateway information. But all the connected neighbors' 3.0.0' still do. But internet is connected and working fine. Also, OLSR screen now has a tab for Smart Gateway. I cannot find any information on what the heck that even is. Hmm...
