yes. this is where my tunnel solution comes in. If you are using BBHN 3.0.2 (and above) or AREDN 3.0.2, these are the setup steps.
http://www.aredn.org/content/tunnel-install-instructions-0 (AREDN 3.15.1.0 b01 has tunneling built-in)

Connecting two mesh islands
Hello Darryl, thanks for the link... It's exactly what I was looking for... Just one more question about connecting different networks... Let's say I have a mesh network in Aurora Illinois and another one in Lyon France, do you know a way to connect these two networks over the internet ?

did a "firstboot" on the tunnel client (Nanostation M2) and reinstalled the client.
Getting an error message on install of the tunnel client:
==============================
Configuring zlib.
Configuring libopenssl.
Configuring vtun.
Collected errors:
* satisfy_dependencies_for: Cannot satisfy the following dependencies for kmod-tun:
* kernel (= 3.3.8-1-bbdfd84029335dca3e2e14f66fb51759) *
* opkg_install_cmd: Cannot install package kmod-tun.
==============================
It completes the rest of the install without further errors.
Any ideas?
Thanks
Hilary

Thanks Darryl,
I have done that but it is still not working.
Could it be because the client and server nodes are configured as DtD?

Connecting two mesh islands
Hello I have two mesh networks.... One mesh network is working on 900Mhz band and the other one on 5Ghz band..
I want to connect these two networks by placing the Ubiquiti M900 and the M5 in the same location. Question is how can I do a LAN to LAN connection between these two different networks so they can all see each other as one single mesh network even if they have different frequencies... Please refer me to any link or document I can read to help me with solving this issue.. Thanks

Hamcom @ Irving, TX this weekend
Anyone making the trek to Hamcom this week, make sure to stop by booth 312 (across the aisle from Flex Radio and between Byonics and Comet Ants) and say Howdy! We will have 'toys' at the booth and will have some very interesting demos on a few different uses of BBHN networking.
And our very own Glenn Currie KD5MFW will be giving a talk in Room 6 from 1-2pm on Saturday. He will be giving a Project Status Update. His presentations are usually SRO, so get there on time!
If you have questions regarding the project or how to set up something, find one of us with the bright orange badges and we will be glad to help!
Hope to see you there. 73 & Happy Meshing Jim K5KTF

Nortel 1535
I found this manual: https://downloads.avaya.com/css/P8/documents/100100089 on page 28-29 it talks about the user info. Not sure if this will help or not, but try removing all user info it mentions. It sounds like if anything is entered here it will try to register but I don't have one these to test that assumption. I would think that because you can call the nortel it should be possible to call with it, even if it is not registered. Hope this helps. Good Luck

I can call it from a Basictalk OK, but it won't dial an IP without registering. |

Look on your node that is the tunnel server, on the status page, get it's WAN address.
(prob something like: 192.168.1.54)
On your home router, setup port forwarding from incoming port 5525 to port 5525 on that IP address (192.168.1.54).
That's it. |

Each node has DHCP enabled so it is a 10.195.... address which the home network can't see.
The WAN address on the node is 192.168.1.126/24.
I tried 192.168.1.126 but that didn't work :-(
What does the /24 mean? |

I'm not familiar with the NetGear switches but it should be whatever IP your home router has assigned to the node. The node should ask for an IP from your router (through the WAN Vlan). You should be able to see the addresses that your router has assigned to devices on one of the status pages (on my router it's shown on "lan settings"). Find the IP that corresponds to the node with the tunnel sever and that is the one you want. Hope this helps |

Thanks for the reply,
My modem/router is on my home network and this is connected to the WAN port of a Netgear GS105e switch with Vlans for each device plus back to back linking, so I can't see the IPs of the nodes.

Hi there, I have 2 Ubiquiti devices. One setup as a tunnel server, the other as a tunnel client. They are setup with DtD linking with Vlans and a WAN connection. What IP do I need to forward to on my WAN router for port 5525?
