mesh ip radio
Hi all I have a idea. Use a Rpi make it a mesh node. Then run a multicast app that will do roip with no server. Use a 16x2 lcd on the Pi and have channel numbers so that you can have a few channels. This will be ideal for emcom and as long as the Pi node is connected to the mesh you can talk to other hams with the same setup. What do you guys think of the idea.

Looking for a tunnel server
After asking here for a tunnel 'partner' I had a good reply from Holland and was able to get that working. Unfortunately my Tunnel Server only works until my ISP changes the IP address (daily?). With the lack of local activity and the lack of updates to the BBHN website (No map updates for example)I think other modes will absorb my radio-time for the mon=ment.

Guess Im not going to get back on the system. I had Rob from the UK, but evidently he's getting out of HSMM. Dont know anyone on the mesh close to me to be a client so might as well quit too |

Status here in Hawaii
Wayne,
Are you still active on BBHN Mesh? I have two systems, one in Hilo and one back in Minnesota. I have a VPN server set up here in Hilo and a VPN client in MN, but have not been able to get them to work. I am obviously missing something. Sound like you have the mesh VPN working. Any suggestions?

Getting HamChat to show as advertised service
I have noticed that if you don't have someone else who can detect your signal that it doesn't show. So you may have very well done everything right just as you said. My advice is to find a partner who has mesh and do some experimenting together. You may be happily surprised. |

Ham Chat- Words Keep Getting Mixed Up after Restart
Hi Everyone,
I have successfully installed hamchat, but after a restart of my computer, or if Dad (K7TEO) turns off his computer, the words are out of sequence. We are suspicious that it may have something to do with Windows versus Ubuntu Linux. Please if anyone has any feedback or suggestions on how to fix this problem I would really like to hear from you, thanks so much. |

Hello All
I just hopped on in Maplewood. No neighbors... Also, where is the Google Map showing nodes? The link from the home page here does not take me anywhere useful, even when I am logged in. Thank you. |

Is there a node in, near, or within range of the Northwest part of Tarrant County? I am interested in Broadband-Hamnet as another 'tool' for portable usage. If there is an email reflector, I would like to subscribe to it. Thank you, James Good kd5vxh |

Just wondering if this is the only Forum for this group or if there might be a reflector type group where a user could register then download any messages posted? |

Interesting. Lacks details though. Any Asterisk/Allstar/App_rpt tie ins?
If you are looking for hams with data center connections you might want to check with the 44net/ampr.org community. They just set up a bunch of echolink relays at a few different data centers. |
