HamChat is installed and working on my WRT54G router running firmware version 3.1.0.  I have tried to make in an advertised service using Setup then Port Forwarding, DHCP, and Services.  After adding the url, saving changes, and rebooting the router, HamChat does not show as an advertised service.  I have tested the url by entering it directly into the browser address bar, and it works fine.

Any thoughts on other things to try or check?

If you don't have two nodes running the service does not show.

I have noticed that if you don't have someone else who can detect your signal that it doesn't show. So you may have very well done everything right just as you said. My advice is to find a partner who has mesh and do some experimenting together. You may be happily surprised.
