Default Channel 1 - Why not use Channel 0 or Channel -1
Is that the standard Luci GUI ? I've tried setting negative channels in 12.09 in core openwrt (but not Luci) are you sure it's actually operating on a negative channel? Everything I've seen so far says kernel won't permit it, regulatory domain control wouldn't permit it etc. If so, I'll fire up a stock OpenWRT and investigate to see what I have been missing. |

POE capacitor supplier?
It is discussed extensively on the webinar located here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_YYX5qXVDjs
POE is discussed about 2:25:00 in to the webinar. It is to smooth the power at the far end of the run. I am looking for a good affordable supplier. |

I just used a pair of diodes to prevent reverse polarity. Worked well, are you worried about over voltage? |

I'm not sure I understand this request, protect the node with a capacitor? Are you maybe thinking a surge suppressor? Or are you just wanting to smooth the power at the far end of the run? |

Change fequency to hamradio bandplan
Hi, I have see in Nanaostaion M2 with BBHN v3.02b firmware following info
[ 20.500000] cfg80211: (start_freq - end_freq @ bandwidth), (max_antenna_gain, max_eirp) [ 20.510000] cfg80211: (2300000 KHz - 2600000 KHz @ 40000 KHz), (N/A, 4000 mBm) [ 20.520000] cfg80211: (5170000 KHz - 6500000 KHz @ 40000 KHz), (N/A, 4000 mBm)
Is it possible setup frequency in ham radio bandplan range ? according to below info from germany hamnet www page (via google translator) https://translate.google.pl/translate?sl=de&tl=en&js=y&prev=_t&hl=pl&ie=UTF-8&u=http%3A%2F%2Fdb0fhn.efi.fh-nuernberg.de%2Fdoku.php%3Fid%3Dprojects%3Awlan%3Aregulations&edit-text=

Not yet. But it's planned for an upcoming dot release. I'll likely be able to get my hands on an early beta version for testing. Challenge is finding compatible MIBs for the wireless ports... that are light weight enough to not impact data throughput. Perhaps you'd keep an eye out for OpenWRT work in the area.

I have implement a few snmp based tools, Nagios and some other RRD graphing utilities. Is there snmp support integrated already into the firmware? |

Restoring WRT54GL to original firmware
In the FAQ section it says we can restore to original Linksys firmware by refreshing the firmware download area and selecting the appropriate Linksys firmware etc. Now that I'll be upgrading my mesh ambitions to Ubiquity, it would be nice to return these WRT's to their original purpose but the firmware downloads don't include the advertised packages. ETA:
I guess I should have looked into this a bit further... it appears that others have addressed this issue on the firmware page.

Well done, Corby! Being a network engineer... have you ever done any work with snmp? I'm eager to see the mesh benefit from standard network management tools like Nagios, NetXMS, The Dude, etc. Andre, K6AH |

WRT54GS cannot load firmware
Hi Group, long time no see...
Finally found myself a GS v2.1 and cannot get the image to load in. I keep getting that blasted "Updates are Failed" notice.
I've tried the 1.0 and the new one, also tried updating with a Linksys update (router firmware is 4.1.x) with no luck.
I've tried the 30-30-30 with no luck.. Anyone have any ideas?
