Hello all,

Ive just brought up 2 ubiquity nodes located at kj6dzb-10, the Nanostation loco n2, and Bullet m2 transmiting localy around kj6dzb-10 the SSid its "HSSM-MESH" Ch1. I have a 360' view to point nodes. I just dont know Were other users are with in LOS.

This is a general call out to others with intrest in establishing LOS links around the East bay, High peeks in SF, Tresure Island, along the coast, to the North bay/mout Tam.

Hams with any HSMM-MESH on 2412mhz or 2m 70cm ax.25 packet??

web based tool to check LOS betwen locations http://wisp.heywhatsthat.com

A note:

hsmm-mesh is an older SSID.  Users are currently being told that if they see this id they should not expect to be able to mesh to it with latest versions of the software. Conversely if someone has this ID as default it means they are running a older version of the software that doesn't speak to the  versions 1.0.0 and above.

Recommend you consider using the default BroadbandHamnet-v1 SSID. Or at lead add a -v1 to the end to quantify it's a 1.0.0 and up build.

Hope you find some other nodes locally!

im going to stick with the HSSM-MESH call. As that my mesh network is not only "BroadbandHamnet-v1 "the back bone of my mesh is a RPi-hssm node.

Ok,

Just don't plan on seeing adhoc links show up anything you have will need to be cordinated as your out of default auto link mode.  Nodes do NOT discover nodes running under a diffrent SSID.

If you do aim to other nodes (as I see you plan to do) you will need to match their SSID to link up.

Im well aware that the ssid's must match. the local NALCO group is trying to launch a NALCO-MESH too. The bay area has big LOS issues! Bridges! and a lot of geographical features, let alone the size and area, every one is spread thru out the BayArea and 2.4ghz works ish!! Its still a call out for hams in the Bay to get links going! http://www.qsl.net/kj6dzb/images/roof_top_9th_3_2014.png http://www.qsl.net/kj6dzb/HAM/Wierless%20Hardwere.html I should be updating the page soon as that I gut got all the new firmware loaded. 73 kj6dzb

Just found your post from May. I am in the Berkeley hills around 3500 meters NW of you. I have been working with some of the NALCO members to get a small demonstration network up throughout the city. The end goal is for emergency services, but there is no specific plan art the moment as to exactly what that means, or if it even falls under the NALCO umbrella.

I see your Wi-Fi node KJ6DZB_(B)NO more Open use from my station. But, the signal is pretty weak -72db. Right now I am running a Rocket-M2 and a dish antenna with BBHN 3.0.0.

If you have an interest in pursuing this effort let me know in a post or PM.

Richard

Hi Richard, I'm interested in BBHN and live in Albany, just West of you. Do you currently have a node active? I'm a week or two away from testing mine. Jay - KJ6HSH

The meshnet is being developed under the auspices of NALCO . At this point the network is open to anyone who wishes to participate... Just use v3.x software the the net name NALCO-MESH. Hopefully you will see one if my nodes, This is really a tested project, so I am unsure what the end result will be.

I've updated my nodes to the 3.1.0 firmware and have them powered up on Bernal Hill One node pointing West toward twin peaks, the other pointing up Mission Street towards downtown.
