Hello:

Using a Linksys WRT54GSv4, I have successfully loaded 1.1.2 HSMM firmware and configured the node call sign and "password" (using the default root/hsmm login to get in). Upon reboot, I see the node ID, but I can not get past setup:login. What is the username for my configured setup, and is the login password the one I defined in config after firmware load?

Thanks,

The username is root, and password should be whatever you set it to during the setup process.

Hello: Thanks for the feedback. Unfortunately, user:root and my assigned password does not let me log-in. I have three hsmm nodes (1 x Bullet and 2 x WRT54GS') and I have assigned them "Password1", "Password2", and "Password3" respectively. None of the three work with root as the user and their "Passwordx" as the PW in setup, but all of them are on-line with their node/call. Other thoughts? Thanks, -- Jeff/KB1TJI

Well, at this point, I would suggest just resetting the password.  For the Bullet, hold the reset button for 5 seconds and for the WRT, you would need to do a TFTP reload of the firmware.

This would set everything back to the default of root/hsmm

Make sure that your CAPSLOCK is not enabled when you are setting your password upon setup.

Hello Daryl and Group: OK, instead, I pushed to Failsafe mode (using the directions in the on-line help file) and changed my password in this mode. Upon reboot => setup I was able to log-in with User:root and my newly-set password. Whew. I'm going back to the other two nodes to repeat this fix. Thanks for the support; nice to be able to access the experts! -- Jeff Marden KB1TJI

Update:  I rebooted the computers and the routers - after walking away and having dinner.  For some reason the routers accepted the username and passwords.

Both nodes are running and they see each other wirelessly.  Now, I just need to learn how to make both nodes interact with each other.  I see a lot of reading in my future.

========

I am having the same problem.  I just flashed two WRT54GL ver 1.1 (using the latest .bin file) and everything appeared to install properly.  I entered my node name  w8mrl-1 and w8mrl-2 and the same password on both of them.

When I try to enter setup it won't accept my username and password.  I've tried multiple times on both units and can't get into setup.

Is this a bug?  Seeing that I'm having the same issue as the previous post?
