Howdy,


I was wondering if anyone has given though to perhaps running Synchronet BBS on Raspberry PI over HSMM? It provides a built in IRC, mail, web page, ftp etc. Just kind of throwing it out there for discussion..

Hi,

I have use on Raspberry PI  "Citadel" http://www.citadel.org/doku.php/doku.php?id=screenshots

it is integrated SMTP/POP3/IMAP/ server which have webmail and BBS.

It is very nice package working very well as local Mial server and users can use WebMail and  BBS

I have Asterisk running right now on my PI and got my phones all working on the network. My concern or question I guess is loading all these various programs onto the PI will it screw up my current set up with Asterisk or will it run all this stuff simultaneously?

If you are installing a true BBS, no. You will just be running two programs simultaneously on your RPi. Should you try to install Citadel, you will encounter problems with the webgui as both have their default http port on port 80. If you were to do a BBS that uses telnet, you might have to pop a hole into the RPi's firewall.

where you can see how to setup webgui Citadel on other port instead defult 80, you can select 8080 or 8000

Due to encryption and ham use, make sure you disable HTTPS access. Read carefully the instructions in the above link (and the text in the pictures) for instructions on how to do this.

If you don't need web access to BBS you can use very popular software XFBB which you can complie and setup under Raspberry PI

I have try complie on raspberry PI but without succes. One file have problem and need change to ARM ???

I have made small changes in sources OBCM v1.07.b12 for compile on Raspberry PI and I have success running OpenBCM on my Raspberry PI. If anybody want know what need to make changes in sources and makefile please contact  with me, I will share with this  solution.
