I have a Ubiquiti AG-HP-2G20 and my problem is that when I do an initial password change from

the default it will reboot. But some how it does not come up with a default route to get back

in. I do not touch any of the WAN dhcp configuration.  I have noticed that the dhcp ip address

has changed from 192.168.1.1 to 192.168.1.63 or 73 depends on the moon cycle.

When I do a trace route back to the AG-HP there is NO route.

Why would a password change effect the ip and routing after a "save" and a "reboot"? Am I missing

something?

The Lan up address should change to a 10.x address you will need a new dhcp lease on your PC to pick that up.  I've also seen some browsers cache localnode so you sometimes have to close the browser.

The WAN ip in DHCP mode is subject to your local DHCP server settings and is out of the control of the node in DHCP a mode.

You can pick up the new dhcp lease by unplugging the Ethernet cable to your computer and after a few seconds reconnecting it, or you can Run a "CMD" window and type the command:  ipconfig /renew

As Conrad points out, we have lots of issues with browsers caching IP addresses, so closing and reopening the browser is definitely worth a try.

I am using a switch to configure my hardware. Which prevent me from changing my 192.168.1.x network to a 10.x.x.x network.

Why should it changed from my network to a 10.x.x.x? There got to be a sitting to let the WAN pick up my switch network and I use that address to login. The 10.x.x.x can be use for wifi dhcp address from the ubiquiti which will be on it own DMZ from my WAN network.

I got same thing,  i flashed firmware with hardware setup:   laptop-24vpoe-m2hp.  no router.

Firmware updated with tftp, worked good. 1982.168.1.1:8080 took me straight into status page and setup.

I tried to save the new node name and password, got the "restart in 60 seconds" page,  then nothing.

Nothing works, hostmode, localhost  192.168.1.1:8080 or 192.168.1.20:8080   ---all inop.  ping wont work to the router either. the lights are on, but no connections.

i pushed button and held for 20 sec while turning on power, lights in disco mode, re-flashed firmware, all went well again, unill I save the node name/password, then again, no connections can be made to the M2.

Do i need a router or switch between the laptop and m2?

What 10.x.x.x address should i be looking for?
