I have 2 nodes ready to go into service.

They are the Linksys WRT54G dual antenna Nodes.

They came with the high gain antennas. (that is what is on them right now.)

I have ordered a vertical antenna and a directional Yagi.

Here is my question:

Can I leave one of the high gain verticals that came with it on and use the other antenna connection to feed both the Yagi and external vertical when I mount them to my outside tower?? (Just use a splitter on the tower)

Rob, You can do this, but it is not really recommended as it will not work well. The splitter will have loss, the coax has loss, and the power will be at least 3dB down to each antenna. The next question is why? Just put the OMNI on one port, the directional antenna on the other port. The OMNI, or near field power will let it connect to the other AP.

Thanks for the "Thats what I thought" reply.

Being very new to this, I just wasn't sure if it was advisable or not to do it this way.

I know there are problems doing this with other applications.

But your cleared up my questions.

Now I just have to get the antennas up and connected.

Not sure how much good it will do, since there are no other nodes near me.

But will get them up and see what happens.
