Trying to understand current status of the device and installing the Mesh updates. If the version isv5.6.2 (XM) with the latest boot version has a upgrade been created to allow using the currently sold device?

Hi Darrell,
I'm in the same situation. I have an M2 with XM v5.6.2 I've tried tftp to flash it with v5.3.x so far without success. I'm not even sure if this should be possible or not. I've had a look around to see if this is possible, but get rather lost in the 'noise', hi.

I am also using NanoStation M2's and here is what I did ...
Downgrade the factory firmware to 5.5.11 using TFTP.
(You MUST use TFTP to do this).
Once 5.5.11 is loaded and working, you can use the firmware upgrade
tool in the web admin console. |

VE3OY Could you tell us which settings you used? I've used tftp & tftpd previously, succesfully, on Cisco phones, but getting nowhere with this, with the 5.5.11 bashing away for extended periods.

well, progress of sorts, at least I see -something- happening. tftp'ing on linux ubuntu 16.04 laptop. 'putting' XM 5.5.11 to my M2 running XM 5.6.2 a couple of times results in 'error code 2, Firmware check failed'. I'm still studying all the stuff on this failure.

Thanks for that Matt, tied up on other things for a couple of days, but will then try that.

Excellent ... and well done!
Glad I could help out a fellow mesh brother.

Downgrade to XMv6.0.6beta, then to XMv6.0.4 then to XMv5.5.10 (make sure they are all unsigned) then load the BBHN file to the device. This will work for rockets with the latest firmware. It is the only way to get past the new bootloader and signed firmware check. |
