Has anyone done a side-by-side comparison to what these hams in Australia are doing with mesh networks?  If it's sufficiently similar, maybe resources can be pooled to expedite development for the benefit of all?

We try to keep up with other projects. HSMM-MESH(tm) is designed to be a general wireless network designed for rapid deployment by hams. Technically it can pass anything that you can send over a wired network. The Village telco is focused on ONE application Voice Over IP. HSMM-MESH(tm) supports VoIP and many other applications as well. I hope this is helpful. -Glenn KD5MFW
