Howdy gang,

K7MT in Helena, Mt.  I received two nodes all set up with my call K7MT-100 and K7MT-101 thanks to Clayton.  I plugged them in and they appear to see each other but how do I set up my lap top to access the Linksys Router using the Web Browser IE 8 ?  Then I need to get access to the Ham Shack Linksys router plugged into my Net Gear Router...

I have one node on ether net to my portable laptop and the second node hooked via ether net to my Net Gear Router in my Ham Shack.  The Net Gear is link to 5.7GHZ internet Link to my IP and my other Lap top containing APRS Plus SA, Wx Station, BPQ32 Switch with BBS, Chat, and RMS Packet to Winlink.  It also controlls my ICOM 706MKIIG and SCS Pactor III HF Link for EMCOM.

My goal is to get these two working and set up access to my Ham Shack Computer for Internet access and Winlink via the Icom 706 for EMCOM. Once this is accomplished, there are plans to expand the MESH around the Valley for EMCOM..

I am looking forward to the adventure and learning from everyone.

Thanks  Bill K7MT

GM from Montana,

Logged into K7MT-101 and linked to K7MT-100  localnode:8080.  Link is good and will now take a look at setting up the server on my APRS BPQ32 Computer.

First goal is to set up a port for BPQ32 Switch so Ican access the program remotely then go to the BBS, WWW Chat, RMS Packet, local packet, and Winlink.

The adventure begins.

Hello, Bill. I got that new router flashed and configured.

I don't expect it to get out very far from my kitchen table at the moment, but maybe I'll take it for a ride in the car. :)

HSM-MESH, Ch1, KE7VUX-100. I'm assuming that matches your configuration. Now to get more packages installed.

Have you looked into the surface-mount OpenTracker from ArgentData. It is designed to be installed inside the WRT54G on the unpopulated TTL serial port. It would then give you either a fully featured APRS digi (or client) or you can use it as a KISS TNC. You would still need the VHF radio to mate with it. As a KISS TNC, it can be "kiss-attach'ed" to the network inside the router, and then you can treat it like any other network device and route traffic. Or use the mesh network as the backhaul for an APRS-Igate. Argent also sells a small 300mw data radio. I don't know if you can get the whole thing inside the case..
