Hi, I'm new to HSMM-mesh and would like to flash my Ubiquiti Bullet M2 HP with the HSMM firmware.  The M2 currently has this installed:

"OpenWrt | OpenWrt Attitude Adjustment 12.09-beta2 | Load: 0.34 0.16 0.06

I downloaded:

"bbhn-3.0.0-f5a9861700111e3cbbb3ed41a430bf1b6b786bea-ar71xx-generic-ubnt-bullet-m-squashfs-factory"

and when I try to load the file I get this error:

"The uploaded image file does not contain a supported format. Make sure that you choose the generic image format for your platform."

It looks like DD-WRT doesn't like the HSMM image file format.

Any ideas how I can get the firmware on there?

Try the non-FACTORY version of the firmware. The factory version is only if you are upgrading from the native Ubiquiti firmware

Thanks. That got me past the error message.

The page changed to "System - Flashing..." and "waiting for changes to be applied"

It's been like that for over 30 minutes.

How long should it take?

I'm certain it is done after 30 mins. Pull the network cable out of your pc, plug it back in, and go to localhost:8080

Thanks for the tips! After a while I noticed a SSID of something like "Mesh Node" became available. I figured it must be done but still said it was waiting (this was after more than an hour). I had a static IP of 192.168.1.22 so I wasn't sure if unplug/replug the eth would do anything. I tried pointing firefox to localhost:8080 but it didn't work so I reset my NIC to DHCP and I saw I got an address and a default gateway of 192.168.1.1. Pointing Firefox to 192.168.1.1:8080 got me the landing page. I got the default password from one of the videos available on the site and need to track down where I wrote it down... Thanks again and 73.

Since we are on the topic of flashing BBHN firmware into a Ubiquiti M2, just a quick question: Is it safe to power up the Ubiquiti M2 without an antenna attached? Or would it be wiser to add an antenna before powering up the equipment?
