I have 2 nodes ready to go, 24DBI antennas, and 2 more of everything on the way.  I have added IRC to one of my nodes, and set it to advertise that service, but from my second node, I can see the first node, but I don't see any services?  I'm not sure where to look.  I assumed that when I would do a scan, that it would show services there, but it isn't.  I have several others interested, but nobody is ready to bite the bullet until they can see the practical side, and right now, all i am doing is showing that I can pick up every wifi hotspot on the block, but I cant communicate with my other node.  I also tried setting up the first node as a gateway, but I am unable to connect to the internet with my second node. I have a feeling that I am missing something.  I am running bbhn-1.0.0 on both nodes.   Any ideas?

Well, that helped, atleast now I know I am looking in the right spot. I have another issue somewhere else. I can see my other node when I do a scan, but at the status page, I do not see it as a neighbor, and I dont see any services listed. Any ideas? I followed the I struction on this site to set up irc, but I dont my other node, so I dont see it advertised anywhere. Am I missing somethig in the setup that is not letting mynode apear as a neighbor?

From my experience, services are only listed when another node is present. The only thing I can think of is to make sure the SSID's are the same across the nodes and each one has a unique host name. If all else fails, you could reflash both of them with bbhn-1.0 firmware and try again leaving everything default. As for internet, make sure you have checked internet gateway and have an Ethernet cord plugged into the WAN port of that node and a router on the other end.

What version routers are you using?

Is the source code for this advertised services available? Can someone point me to it? It's a great idea, and I'd like to see other people implement it.

Advertised services are provided by the nameservice plugin to OLSR. Define a service to be advertised, save it, and then check out the tail end of /tmp/olsrd.conf.
